Controversy in South-East PDP

The People Democratic Party on Saturday show case an appalling conduct of primaries in different states of the federation. The primaries which was conducted in Anambra state, Delta state, Abia state and Akwa Ibom state. The primaries was held and results announced immediately afterwards.
The materials that were supposed to be use for the conduct of the primaries into the house of were not brought in until later in the evening on Saturday after which various factions of the party had already conducted the primaries and announced result.
The spokesman of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Awka, Frank Egbo, however, said the commission was not aware that factions conducted primaries.

Egbo said the commission monitored the exercise throughout the state and that what it monitored was PDP primaries and not that of any faction, adding that it was not interested in any group except the party.
Controversy also trailed last Saturday’s party primary for House of Assembly aspirants in Abia State following pockets of protests and crisis in some constituencies.
Our findings revealed that the exercise was inconclusive in some constituencies as a result of heightened tension, while it did not hold at all at Ukwa East constituency.
