Buhari's credentials are intact: Olaleye

Army Director of Public Relations of the Nigerian Army, Brigadier Olaleye Lajide, has dismissed reports in the Nigerian media claiming that the army could not find academic records of General Muhammadu Buhari (ret.), the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Brigadier Lajide described the reports as false. The military spokesman made the disclosure while
responding to a text message from SaharaReporters seeking clarification about the status of Mr. Buhari’s records. Brigadier Lajide affirmed that the Nigerian Army is in possession of all records of
serving, retired and deceased officers since its inception. He added, however, that all military officers are supposed to keep original copies of their certificates. According to him, in the event where an officer loses his or her original copy of records, the concerned officer must officially apply for copies
from the army. He stated that the army responds to such requests in an expeditious manner.
Brigadier Lajide told our correspondent that he was a former director of records at the Nigerian Army
headquarters and had seen records of older and retired generals. He added that he was in no doubt
that General Buhari’s records were intact. Brigadier Olaleye insisted that the claim in a major
Nigerian newspaper, that the army could not locate Mr. Buhari’s record was untrue

The full speech of Rev Father Ejike Mbaka

After just a month and a week that Rev Fr. Ejike Mbaka prayed for President Jonathan that he will return to office after the on coming general election, the  Spiritual Director of Adoration Ministry, Enugu has changed his mind about the president, telling him to step down for Buhari.
Read the full speech below:

"In the year 2014, we had a lot of bloodshed in this country. People were dying like rats without anybody asking about them. This country suffered a lot of blood experience. Many of us witnessed that people were in tears. Just like the ancient world, the year 2014, the 4 in it had the queen in it, which had to do with death. Our leaders failedus with reckless abandon and nobody asked them question.
The so-called democracy was a hidden autocracy. It was deceptive and questionable quack miler. Nigerians suffered hunger unnecessarily. We heard about oil subsidy being removed and added, whatever be(is) their jargon, nobody understood them. We heard about minimum wage, the civil servant suffered, the minimum wage was not paid and we were all calm. In 2015, Nigerians will not be calm again (shouts of AMEN!).
We need change. Whatever it will be, let it be. This is my golden message to my beloved country. What actually is happening (Ogini nne me?). The multitude of our youths, the quality young men, quality young women, brilliants youths but nobody has plans for any of you. Our so-called leaders should come and apologize. In 2015, it shall not continue like that (shouts of AMEN).
By the grace of God, by the power of the Holy Spirit, we are announcing spiritually, change! 2015 should not be a year of any hooligan maneuvering to hijack power. This is our New Year message.  Listen, when you go home, tell anybody you see that from the oracle of the Holy Spirit, we are announcing change (AMEN). Can somebody help me to shout change (shouts of change by the congregation) in Jesus holy name.
Look at what it’s like, as I’m yet to bless your families, bless your industries, bless your destinies. Come 2015, your plans are blessed, your vision are blessed, your locomotive society are blessed. I cover this year with the blood of Jesus. I seal this year with the blood of Jesus.
My message is in two branches (folds). Number one branch, the theme of this first message to my fellow countrymen is from good luck to bad luck. Once upon a time, the whole countrymen were crying for a leader who will help us move forward with our economy, have an authentic democracy, give our unemployed youths jobs, enable our power to be steady, who will industrialize Nigerians, who will encourage mass education and agriculturalize Nigeria.  Having in view that oil will soon drop, give us security in a maximum level. By the grace of God, there emerged a Goodluck, all of us were happy, the Goodluck met Yar’ Adua and Yar’ Adua died. May the Holy Spirit help me as I utter this message, I know many will misunderstand it, but it will stand the test of time and you will know I’m speaking the truth.
The Goodluck met Yar’Adua and Yar’Adua died. Before you know it, the Goodluck met our oil and the oil had a bad luck and poured away, before we knew it, the Goodluck met our naira, our naira had a bad luck. Where are we going? What is the fate of this country? Shall we continue like this, we need change (shout of change from the congregation).
As I’m speaking with you, most of our civil servants did not celebrate their Christmas. The Christmas season that should be a Goodluck time became a bad luck time for our Nigerians forgetting that very soon, from 3rd January, the children will go back to school and the parent are going to pay school fees. From where? Are they going to use their urine to pay? (Shout of NO from the congregation). But where is the good water even if they are going to use their urine. Are they going to use their stool to pay the school fees of their children? (Shout of NO from the congregation). You have to eat well to defecate.
What is the fate of our children? Tears fill my eyes when I see our young graduates hoping and walking our streets. What is the meaning of kidnapping? Kidnapping is the grandson of unemployment. Boko Haram is a grand great child of the same unemployment, mass looting, and poor governance.
I’m not saying that Goodluck is a bad man. He is a good man. But he cannot lead Nigeria. As things stand right now, from the oracle of the Holy Spirit, Jonathan should honourably resign quietly and let Nigeria be. The destiny of Nigeria is greater than Goodluck Jonathan. The Goodluck in Jonathan has become a bad luck to Nigerians. Whatever brought him in should send him back and let Nigeria be.
By this time in few months to come, many are going to lose their jobs and there is no alternative. During election, Jonathan will answer Azikiwe, Ebele and become an Igbo man and after election, the Ebele, the Azikiwe and Goodluck will vanish from his identity. Who is fooling who actually?
Look at our federal roads, we are not even asking for new ones, roads built by Buhari and Babangidas —  the so called Hausa people— cannot be maintained. Follow Enugu here to Onitsha, children born some years ago do not know that there was a lane along the other side of Isiagwu and we are all saying continue. The continuity of Jonathan means disaster to Nigeria.
We need change. May the Holy Spirit help me to vocalize what he has shown to me while I was waiting on him to give me a message for my people? I’m worried about the future of you my children. Go to school, go to school, mention any government school functioning in Nigeria now? Our schools are dilapidated. Nigeria is like an egg about to break in the hands of Jonathan Goodluck and we cannot allow it to happen. It is so unfortunate that pastors are becoming vultures around the president. Pastors are becoming hawks around him, eating the porridge of Jacob and selling their prophetic rights. And anointing is being merchandised in Aso Rock, carrying our nairas, turning it to dollars and carrying it in jets moving out of the country.
Listen, this is the voice on the pulpit: all these men of God, who are telling Jonathan to continue because they are benefitting one thing or the other, you should question your apostolic, prophetic anointing. What the Bible say is that Samson did not know that the Holy Spirit had left him. Let them watch if the Holy Spirit is still in them.
Listen, they will begin to tell us this one is a Christian the other one is a Muslim. I don’t believe in that. Who is a Christian more than Judas? Did Judas not betray Jesus? Judas was not just a Christian, he was not just a mere apostle, he was a super apostle like a cardinal but at a time he messed up and Bible says his office, let another take. That is the normal thing.
The way Nigeria is going right now, the office of Goodluck Jonathan let another take. I’m not campaigning for anybody. I’m filled with tears over what is happening in Nigeria. Some of us who have nongovernmental organisations funding charity, I know what I’m suffering. The more they are looting our resources, the more they are rending you unemployed, the more some of us suffer the more. If I have been paying for the school fees of 500 people, it would now jack up to 3000, or more.
What the government should do, individuals are struggling to achieve. When there is no road, no power, all this fake promises… where is the power? That Onitsha Bridge, has it now been built? No. After 6 years, and Goodluck has what it takes to do whatever. He surrounded himself with hooligans. By the time he comes down, he won’t have anybody to work with. He played himself into the hands of hooligans.
My interest is about the wellness of this country. Nigeria must survive what we are passing through by the help of God. The same God who saved us from Ebola will save us from this bad luck season (shouts of AMEN from the congregation).
Look at it, there was a time there was an argument about pension fund – such billions. Who is talking about it now? Billions and we were hearing it… from excess crude oil money, where is the impact of the excess crude oil money? Now from oil boom, it has met a bad luck; it’s now oil doom. If my father will be my leader and my siblings will all die, let a stranger be my leader and let my family be. All I’m trying to tell you is that we have not entered into any covenant with anybody.
Last time, the First Lady came here. We are not partisan; we welcomed her. We did a spiritual drama here. Lifted four birds to fly up, the main one that should fly up refused to go. I did everything possible and that one is the healthiest of them all but refused to fly and the spirit of God said, don’t disturb him.
When God rejected Saul, David took over. Let me tell you, in the history of Nigeria, we have never experience bloodshed as we have in the time of Goodluck. If Goodluck means bloodshed for Nigerians are you waiting until your own blood is shed? (shouts of No from the congregation).
We need change, however God will do it. Look at the insecurity if you go to the northern part of Nigeria.
My fellow priest, my fellow pastors, don’t just stand up to attack this message, because you have mouth. Think well before you put your mouth, the voice is beyond your own contribution. Listen, are you waiting for your own church to be bombed before you speak out? If you go to Maiduguri, some parishes have closed down. Go to Potiskum. People no longer go to church on Sundays in many parts of this country. Now imagine a scenario where a president cannot fight a simple insurgence. This is not an external country attack o. It is not like another country invaded Nigeria. It is an intra distraction. And many of us are claiming that it was because Buhari said that he was going to make Jonathan’s government ungovernable. Listen, let’s assume Buhari said something like that, even though it’s not Buhari who said it. So if you are the president and somebody say something like that, will you not arrest such a person?"

Drivers reject N70,000 offer to drive Jonathan's campaign vehicle

The fear of being attacked by citizens opposed to the President Goodluck Jonathan’s second term forced commercial and private drivers in Kaduna State to turn down the Peoples Democratic Party’s 70, 000 offer to take Jonathan campaign vehicles from Kaduna to Kano State.
According to SahharaReporters, the ruling party could not get drivers to steer the vehicles painted in the PDP and Jonathan/Sambo campaign brand to the neigbnouring state.
The report said several drivers who were approached to drop off the campaign vehicles said that Jonathan had failed the north and they could not in good conscience be seen driving vehicles with his campaign logo between the two most important cities in the north.
The drivers were offered N70, 000 each but they refused to move the vehicles numbering 80 to Kano from the Kaduna government house where Vice President, Namadi Sambo and Kaduna state governor, Mukhtar Ramalan Yero had them purchased and branded for President Jonathan’s presidential campaign in Kano.
The reports added that the Presidency intervened and ordered the police and army drivers to move the vehicle under armed escort.

BREAKING: Car explosion rocks Yobe, kills six

An explosion has rocked Fika, a major town in Yobe state, the police in the state have told PREMIUM TIMES.
Six people are reported dead in the explosion which occurred close to a security checkpoint in the town.
The Yobe State Police Commissioner, Marcus Danladi, told PREMIUM TIMES the explosive device that went off was being conveyed in a car to an unknown location when it suddenly exploded.
The car exploded shortly after it drove past a checkpoint, Mr. Danladi said.
“The people carrying the bomb inside a vehicle were the people who died,” the police commissioner said. “They came from one of the villages where the insurgents are  hiding and the same people carrying the bomb were the same people who died.
“Yobe is calm. There is no problem.”
The incident occurred less than a month after Damaturu, the Yobe State capital, came under heavy attack by suspected Boko Haram terrorists who,  according to residents, surrounded the town and killed many.
The terrorists had earlier on November 13 attacked the Yobe capital with explosions and gunshots in an attempt  to take over the Government House.
An earlier bomb attack on Government Senior Science Secondary School in Potiskum, also in Yobe, on November 10, killed 47 students and injured 79 others, the police said.
The Government Science Secondary School, Potiskum is one of the densely populated boarding schools for boys, located very close to the Potiskum General Hospital in the heart of town.
Potiskum is the largest town outside Damaturu, the Yobe state capital. It is the headquarters of the Fika Emirate.
The attack on the high school came six days after a similar bombing was targeted at members of the Shiite group, Islamic Brotherhood of Nigeria, also in Potiskum.
That bombing took place at Faydia Islamic school, ran by the Shiite. It is located near the old market in Potiskum.

10 tested steps to finding job in Nigeria

                                                                         HR talk

                                                                           WITH

www.shadedreflects.blogspot.com
Moruf Kolawole, Nasir (an experience HR personnel)

The saying “Applying to jobs is a full-time job” put me to work this week. After reading two articles which centered on this quote this week (one asserting and the other indirectly negating the statement), I got thinking about the quote knowing fully well the rigour of finding/applying to jobs. I finally came up with these TEN nuggets to find a job.
The 10 steps will also serve as prove that seeking job is a full time job and if one can religiously follow the 10 steps, the period of job hunting will certainly be very short. Here are the 10 tips.
1.     Get Your Tools Ready: You don’t go to farm without hoe and/or cutlass, so get the tools to work with-uninterrupted access to a computer and internet facilities. You can sustain cyber café for only a short period before you get tired and out of cash, even when using the cyber café you will always be in haste most of the time thus making silly mistakes or doing a shabby job. Is it not funny seeing fresh graduates without computer at this age when two month allowee is enough to get one a fairly used laptop? No wonder some job seekers send out scanned CVs and many others use one CV for many years, unedited.
2.     Subscribe To Job Boards: Now that your tools are ready, you are good to go. Subscribe to as many job boards as possible and frequently visit as many others as possible. I guess you know some of them? Jarushub, Nairaland, hotnigerianjobs, Naijahotjobs, jobberman, nigeriabest forum etc, ask your friends the list is endless. I know too many people who do not believe in online vacancies, please don’t join the folk, online vacancies are very real. In fact HR practitioners try as much as possible to reduce cost of recruiting and for that reason we do lots of online advert placement. Read some of my previous articles to know why you are not getting invitation for job interviews, and also keep following Jarushub for more.
3.     Check Newspapers: Apart from online subscriptions, see newspaper adverts too.  See as much of news paper advert as possible. Some companies prefer to use the print media. Most “Big” companies use all the platforms to advertise. It is very unlikely to see “unserious” companies paying heavily to advertise on the pages of newspapers. Although some fraudulent recruiters also use the print media (just as they do with the internet) to advertise their illegal business of extorting unemployed Nigerians. But by their advert you will know them. (I will do an article someday on how to identify them, just always be on Jarushub).

4.     Network! Network! Network!: Always remember networking is key in job search. Even those who have made up their minds that to get a job one must be connected believe in networking, so no one should be left out. In networking, you reconnect with your old contacts and create new contacts. Remember after your service year you began calling one or two people, after the first few months you gave up. Bro! it doesn’t work that way, it is a continuous process, that is why all these steps are real full time job. If the last time I heard from you was three years ago and now that you called the reason you did was to tell me to help you find job, that is not networking, start from somewhere. Consciously build/develop your network.
5.     Sieve Vacancies before Applying: You ask- “do beggars choose?” Trust me, beggars may not choose what they get, but they choose where they stay to get what they get. Stop applying for civil engineering job at the same time applying for front desk job, Ahba! What career path is that? The point is, I understand you just have to leave home, anyhow, but try as much as possible to search within some limit, bikonu! Sieving vacancies also involve applying to jobs you are qualified for, not just sending CVs around with the lame excuse of trying your luck. No wonder out of 300 applications you got only one invitation for interview, in all fairness to yourself how many of those jobs did you meet the minimum requirements?
6.     Customize Your CV and Cover Letter: This is another daunting task, because you are expected to prepare different CV for different job. At least you should have like two different CVs, you can have as many as you want. Mind you the real job here is knowing the CV you sent out for different application so as not to prepare with CV “A”to attend interview where CV “B” was submitted. Again you must do a new cover letter for every new application. With these you will agree that it is a full time job that needs commitment, otherwise you will go the popular way- same CV and same cover letter for all applications

7.     Update Your Skills: Thank God we now have limited cases of graduates that cannot use computer, although we still have some. It beats my imagination when occasionally I come across graduates like that, unfortunately they usually eye administrative/secretariat jobs. I wonder how the roles will be discharged without the use of computer. You are happy because you can use PC well chei? don’t be deceived that is never the only skill required in jobs. Having made up your mind on the job area you want to build your career path, find out the skills required for the job and begin to work on it. Most times when hiring managers ask for work experience, their concern is in you having the SKILLS to perform the job and of course your exposure in the job.
8.     Go For Internship: This may be necessary especially if you are a fresh graduate, try get a place to render free service to avail yourself the skills that will enhance your chances of being selected for interviews. If however, you are fortunate to get a job after service year, don’t be too insistent on high pay especially for jobs that is in line with your career path.
9.     Prepare Well for Tests and Interviews: Now you have succeeded in getting called for test/interview. Preparation for test/interview is the thin line between the person who gets the job and the person who did not. How well you prepare for test and interview will determine the level of your confidence and that determines your performance.
10. Be Lucky/Godly: Since our audiences are not restricted to only the Theists, I decided to alternate this sub-heading. To the Theists be Prayerful and to others be Lucky. To those who strongly belief in prayer, it is the first and last step to find a job; and for those who do otherwise, luck has a role to play in landing a job, if luck is on your side you are good to go, otherwise with all the above you may still find it tough to get job on time. Either God or luck somehow, something beyond our control also has a role in all of these.

Seven Boko Haram bombers die in explosive-laden van

Seven suspected Boko Haram terrorists were on Monday killed when an Improvised Explosives Device hidden in a Toyota pick-up van exploded before it could get to Biu Market, suspected to be its destination.
A security source, who spoke on condition of anonymity with our correspondent on the telephone on Tuesday, said, “A Toyota pick-up van, loaded with maize and beans with IED hidden under them, belonging to Boko Haram insurgents, exploded near Chikwarkir village of Biu, killing all the occupants of the van.”
He said it was believed that the insurgents intended to sneak into Biu Market to detonate the explosives and kill many traders and customers.
“As you know, it is harvest time and people are taking their farm produce to the market; but thank God, the bomb exploded before they could get to the market,” the source said.
He added that the insurgents must have specifically chosen Monday, as they were aware that Monday and Thursday were the market days in Biu, the headquarters of Biu Local Government.

Why Obasanjo picked Jonathan as Yar' Adua's Vice

 www.shadedreflects.blogspot.com
Mr. Jelili Adesiyan, President Jonathan’s Minister of Police Affairs and member of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has revealed the former President Olusegun Obasanjo was vindictive and was fighting Jonathan because he (Jonathan) had refused to be used by him.

The minister said this in Lagos at the launch of a book titled, ‘Watch the Watcher,’ written by an activist, Yinka Odumakin, in reaction to Obasanjo’s controversial book, ‘My Watch’.

The minister said, Obasanjo picked Jonathan as the late President Umaru Yar’Adua’s running mate because he felt he could control him but his plans backfired.

He said, “He picked a President that was sick and while we were campaigning for the President, he (Yar’Adua) was always in Germany receiving treatment. While many were lobbying for the VP slot, Obasanjo picked a gentleman, Goodluck Jonathan, who had no strong political base so that he could control him.
“Unfortunately for Obasanjo, God had a better plan and Jonathan refused to be used. Obasanjo, being the man that he is, has now teamed up with Bola Tinubu and Atiku Abubakar to snatch power but Tinubu will outsmart him because we Osun people are smart. Ask Tinubu, he is my brother, from my state. He is from Iragbiji while I am from Ode-Omu.”

twitter account opened to discredit Buhari surfaced

A fake twitter account by a certain Ima Sadiq, tweeting @imamsadiq123 has surfaced to discredit the Presidential candidacy of General Muhammadu Buhari of the opposition All Progressive Congress.
The account which was started on Friday and has some 51 followers is posing as a Buhari supporting Islamic cleric, suggesting that Buhari’s singular mission in Aso Rock is to entrench the Shariah law. Already vigilant social media users have rubbished the twitter account as an attempt to discredit Buhari’s candidacy by echoing the propaganda that have been used over the years to portray Buhari as a religious fanatic.

Gunmen attack villagers in Kaduna

No fewer than 10 persons were on Saturday night killed by gunmen at the Tattaura village in Sanga Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
Tattaura is a community in Ancha District of Ninzo Chiefdom in the southern part of the state. The village is about two kilometres East of Gwantu, the local government headquarters.
During the raid, which started at about 10pm on Saturday night, according to an eyewitness, five other persons were said to have sustained fatal injuries and were rushed to Akwanga General Hospital in Nasarawa State, where they were said to be receiving treatment.
It was gathered that the community usually organised dances among children, youths and the aged during the Yuletide in the area.
The Acting Chairman of the council, Alhaji Nasiru Harande, described the incident as “unfortunate.”
He said the attacker “came, shot and fled” to an unknown destination.
Harande said normalcy had returned to the community, but added, “10 people were killed while the five injured persons are receiving treatment in a general hospital in Akwanga.”
Mike Sanga, a community leader from the area, said the attack took place in a shop, where some men were relaxing after a hectic dance.
He said, “Our community is about three kilometres to Nandu–Ankpong, where 19 people were killed in June, this year. We identified the people killed to be Joel Ambo, a primary school teacher, Yakubu Ambi, Yamu Idzi, Anche Ishaku and Misalai Ngbo.

Endure the hardship of fallen oil price, Jonathan tells Nigerians

By Nafisat Nasir, Lagos

President Goodluck Jonathan has implored the nation to bear the hardship that will come with the fall in the global oil price. He said this while speaking at the Christ Apostolic Church in Abuja today, said the oil price drop is nothing compared to 2008 to 2009 when oil was sold for $40 per barrel. He said anytime there is a drop in the price of oil, it will surely affect us. The president said it has happened before in 2008, 2009 that was almost about $40, and we survived as a nation, so we are going go survive this time around again.

“This time, by all predictions, it will not even go as low as that, we will surely survive it. The economic team is working very hard to stabilize it and we believe that although there may be temporary inconveniences, it will definitely not bring the economy down” he said.
