Fayose blasts Obasanjo, says he is one of Nigeria major problem

The governor of Ekiti State, Mr Ayodele Fayose has described Former president Olusegun Obasanjo as one of the major problem that is facing the development of this country. He castigated the visit of the five governor who went to beg obasanjo to support Jonathan, saying that the visit is unwarranted and uncalled for. He went forward to say that PDP can do well without the former president.
He said PDP as a party must stop condoning indiscipline, saying; “nobody should be treated as being bigger than the party.” He therefore called for immediate suspension  of the former president from the PDP,  said; “A man who has refused to respect the office of the President of Nigeria that he once occupied does not also deserve respect from anyone.”

 Speaking further, Fayose said Obasanjo was already a member of the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) and that he was pushing for one of his loyalists to  be the party’s Vice presidential candidate. He said; “Obasanjo is a man who can never be pleased.  His principle of life is; if it is not his way, it must not be another person’s way. “Even if President Jonathan gives Obasanjo his blood today, he (Obasanjo) cannot change  because he is already neckdeep in the APC agenda, with his
eyes on the vice presidential ticket of the party. 
“Therefore, no amount of visits by PDP governors can make him change his mind about President Jonathan,  whom he hates not because he has not performed, but because he (Jonathan) did not hand over his presidency to him.”

Ambode exposed by Jamb, says he is from Ondo State

The winner of the governorship ticket of the APC Mr Akinwunmi Ambode has been exposed by the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board when the body claimed that Ambode registered as an indegene of ondo state when he registered for the examination in 1983.

Akinwunmi who has been enjoying massive  support from the majority, may be investigated  as some of the aggrieved politicians have petitioned the Inspector General of police, Suleiman Abba calling for the immediate arrest and prosecution of the governorship aspirant for committing perjury in his INEC form.

Tambuwal, Amosun, Umuna, others pick APC tickets

The All Progressive congress yesterday conducted its governorship primaries across the country signalling their readiness for the next year general election.

House of Representatives Speaker Aminu Waziri Tambuwal picked the Sokoto State ticket.

Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode took a commanding lead in Lagos.

Mr. Umana Okon Umana won in Akwa Ibom, Olorogun O’tega Emehor is the Delta State candidate.

In Niger State, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Belo is the standard bearer.

Abdulfatah Ahmed (Kwara), Abdulaziz Yari (Zamfara), Tanko Al-Makura (Nasarawa) and Ibrahim 

Gaidam (Yobe) got the tickets to run for second term.

Speaker Tambawal polled 3,466 votes to emerge tops, ahead of four other contenders.

His opponents’ scores are as follows: Professor Lawal Bashir (0), Yusha’u Ahmed Kebbe(13), Senator Umaru Dahiru Tambawal(23) and Jibrin Bello Gada(0). The primary was held at the Gingiya Memorial Stadium. The delegates were drawn from the 23 local government areas and 244 wards.

Total delegates accredited 3,569, total votes cast 3,513 and total valid votes 3,501.

The chairman of the four-man Electoral Panel, Bolaji Khalil, said 10 votes were invalid.

Tambuwal, who attributed his victory to Allah, praised Governor Aliyu Wamakko for his resilience in providing the right kind of leadership.

“ I, therefore, wish to thank delegates and the good people of Sokoto State with the hope that you will extend your support to the party to ensure we form a responsive government that will transform the state,” he said.

After a rowdy scene, a former secretary to the Akwa Ibom State Government, Umana Okon Umana, was declared the winner at the Uyo Township Stadium.

Umana, who defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) last week, scored 2,444 of the 2,453 valid votes.

His opponent, Senator James Akpanudoedehe, scored only six votes.

The shadow poll kicked off in Lagos  around 1.30 pm, following the accreditation of about  6,000 delegates from the pre-existing 20 local governments.

As from 9 am, the aspirants stormed the venue. They include the Speaker of the House of Assembly, Hon. Adeyemi Ikuforiji, Hon. Lanre Ope, former Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice Mr. Olasupo Sashore (SAN), Senator Ganiyu Solomon and former Health Commissioner Wahab Tokunbo.

Others are: Mr. Tayo Ayinde, Mr. Adekunle Disu, former Accountant-General and Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Finance, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode and Mrs. Tobun Agbesanwa, the only woman in the race.

At 1 pm, the gate of the venue was locked. Ambode entered the stadium,shortly before the closure of the gate. The chartered  accountant went around the high table to greet party leaders and co-aspirants. He cracked jokes with Senator Solomon before sitting next to the House of Representatives member, Mrs. Abike Dabiri-Erewa.

Voting started at 20.25 pm. Delegates from Epe Local Government Area were the first to cast  their votes, shortly after the Chairman of the Planning Committee, Pastor Peter Obadan, a former deputy governor of Edo State, highlighted the voting procedure.

Obadan directed that delegates should put their badges on before voting. He also asked the local government chairmen to identify the delegates to prevent impostors from participating.

Obadan assured aspirants and delegates of a fair exercise, saying that “counting will be done in the open and the result will be announced”.

Governor Babatunde Fashola  was absent. However, his deputy Mrs. Adejoke Orelope- Adefulire, Secretary to Government Dr. Oluranti Adebule and some commissioners witnessed the poll.

Also there were former Deputy Governors Rafiu Jafojo, Femi Pedro, Abiodun Ogunleye and Sarah Sosan; Senators  Tony Adefuye, Olorunnimbe Mamora, Oluremi Tinubu and Gbenga Ashafa; House of Representatives members Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, Lanre Odubote, Yakubu Balogun, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Deji Jakande, Adeola Olamilekan, Samuel Adejare and Akinderu  Fatai.

Also present were Pa Abiodun Sunmola, Cardinal James Odunmbaku, Chief Funso Ologunde, Alhaji Ganiyu Badmus, Alhaji Seriki Akanni Bamu,  Comrade Joe Igbokwe, Abiodun Salam, Chief Raheem Daramola, Hon. Hakeem Oris, Abiodun Mafe, Chief Lanre Rasaq, Mrs. Kemi Nelson, Mrs. Olayinka Olagunsoye, Tunde Braimoh, Rotimi Agunsoye, Bayo Osinnowo, Hon. Segun Olulade, Bayo Ajisebutu, Chief Mutiu Are, Hon. Cornelius Ojelabi, Dele Alade, Tunde Oshinlalu, Foluso Jayeoluwa and Hon. Joko Pelumi.

The party’s presidential candidates will emerge next week in Lagos to climax the pre-general election activities.

The party will pick its House of Representatives and Senate candidates this week.

Tinubu's candidate grab Lagos governorship ticket

Tinubu's candidate, Akinwunmi Ambode has been declared the winner of the Lagos state All Progressive Party's guber primary, he was declared the winner amidst protest from other aspirants.

Over 3,000 delegates from the 20 local government areas of the state accredited. Those who rejected the result are a former Commissioner for Health, Dr. Leke Pitan; the Current Commissioner for Works, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat; the Speaker of the House of Assembly, Adeyemi Ikuforiji and Senator Ganiyu Solomon a former Commissioner for Rural Affairs, Mr. Toyin Ayinde;  and a former Attorney General of the state, Mr. Olasupo Shasore. Others are Mr. Wahab Tokunbo, a former aide to Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Tayo Akinde,

PDP suspends Bamanga Tukur

The people democratic party has suspended its immediate past chairman Dr. Bamanga Tukur. The reason for his suspension is that he instituted a suit against the current chairman, Adamu Mu’azu, without first exhausting internal redress avenues.
The statement was issued by the party’s National Legal Adviser, Barr. Victor Kwon, during the party's 395th meeting.

Ajimobi wins APC primary in Oyo state

The governor of Oyo state, Abiola Ajimobi, has been declared winner of the All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship primary in the state.
Mr. Ajimobi polled ‎4,662 votes to defeat his only remaining challenger, Ayo Lam-Adesina, who had 22 votes. The third contestant, a former Commissioner for ‎Justice and Attorney General of the state, Adebayo Shittu, did not participate in the election.


‎Four thousand seven hundred and seventy-six (4,776) delegates were accredited but the results showed only 4,774 voted with 90 votes counted as invalid.
‎After declaring the result, the chairman of the electoral committee, Lumumpah Adeh, said: “We had three aspirants screened by the APC Screening Committee and they are Barrister Adebayo Shittu, Dr. Wasiu Abayomi Lam-Adesina and Senator Abiola Ajimobi.
‎

”Yesterday ‎we had interaction with all the aspirants but one of the aspirants, Barrister Adebayo Shittu, indicated that he was not going to participate in the exercise. He submitted a petition but that would not stop the exercise; and it is by way of information. His petition or letter will be forwarded to the national secretariat of the party", said the chairman of he electoral committee.
Meanwhile, Mr. Ajimobi, speaking‎ after the exercise, said he was confident of clinching victory against any candidate brought forward by the opposition in the 2015 election.

Nigeria cancel US training to fight boko haram

The federal government of Nigeria on monday announced the cancellation of the training of military battalion which was suppose to help the Nigerian army to fight the Boko Haram terrorist group which has established itself has a torn in the flesh of Nigeria. The training was early scheduled to be carried over by the US government.
In a statement issued by the embassy “We regret premature termination of this training, as it was to be the first in a larger planned project that would have trained additional units with the goal of helping the Nigerian Army build capacity to counter Boko Haram,”.
